Year 10 Curriculum 2025

The Year 10 Curriculum is based on the Victorian F-10 Curriculum.

The Year 10 Curriculum is based on the Victorian F-10 Curriculum.

Students experience a targeted program with increased flexibility and choice built in.

Year 10 Applied Learning Program

Students may choose to study a recommended applied learning option at Year 10.  This targeted program allows students to engage in subjects that have a focus on applied learning and work readiness. This option provides direction for students who believe that the VCE Vocational Major may be their pathway, however, has the flexibility to allow students to still access the VCE if they decide to.

Students who choose the Applied Learning Program in Year 10 will:

  • Be invited to complete work experience during the exam periods. Students who do NOT secure work experience will be expected to participate in the exam program.

Accelerated Learning at Year 10

The College offers students in the Year 10 Core Program the opportunity to engage in accelerated learning at the Senior Campus. This allows students to commence a Unit 1 and 2 level VCE or VCE-VET study in Year 10 and complete their VCE with 6 Unit 3 and 4 level subjects (which may include University Enhancement studies) rather than the usual 5.

*Please note that acceleration is not offered to allow students to have a reduced subject load at Year 12.

Students who have demonstrated academic excellence and are working at a level well above their peers in most subjects, and particularly in the learning areas they wish to study in 2025, are eligible to apply.

The application process involves a detailed written application and an evaluation of the students’ academic history and teacher referrals. Where additional information is required, an interview may be arranged. Only applicants who meet all requirements will be allowed to accelerate. The application form is available here.

The following VCE and VCE-VET subjects will be offered to Year 10 students who wish to apply for acceleration:
