Year 7 - Mathematics

Overview

Year 7 students transition into high school mathematics where they develop and consolidate their numeracy skills in a variety of mathematical concepts from the Victorian Curriculum. Students are given the opportunity to work through Year 7 Mathematics concepts whilst also closing gaps in their learning through differentiated learning modules. Students are provided with many and varied opportunities to become confident, creative, and effective communicators of Mathematics.

Units / Topics Types of Assessment
Number and Algebra Average Growth Rate
Measurement and Geometry Semester Projects
Statistics and Probability Rich Task Investigations
Fortnightly Tests

Future Directions
Satisfactory completion of this subject will provide a sound foundation for students to proceed to Year 8 Mathematics. Students who demonstrate capacity, may be invited into Advanced Mathematics
