Overview
This qualification reflects the role of individuals with well-developed skills and knowledge required to deliver recreational services. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using clearly defined plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities. This qualification provides a pathway to work for any type of sport, aquatic or recreation organisation including commercial, not-for-profit, community and government organisations. The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
Course Structure
This course will be offered to Year 11 students in 2024. There are 15 Units to be completed over two (2) years. Students who satisfactorily complete the first year may go on to a second year to complete the Certificate III. The Certificate also contributes four (4) Units to the VCE. On completion of the VCE Examination, students will gain a study score which will contribute to their ATAR Score. Students who do not complete the first year will not be allowed to enrol in the second year.

Assessment tasks
All assessments are available on the iVET portal for students to access, keep track of and progress. Assessment is based on how competent a student is at a set task. This can be a practical demonstration, a topic test, or documentation that the student has prepared as part of a Unit of work. The level of skills demonstrated by the student must be Industry standard.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
