Year 10 - Product Design and Technology: Textiles
OverviewStudent’s design and create a textiles product, usually a garment based on the needs of an end user. Students investigate and make judgements on how the characteristics and properties of materials influence design solutions. They analyse factors that impact on environmental and social sustainability in design and materials. After some investigation and research of similar products, students will create a design brief that typically identifies the user, the needs, criteria for success, constraints for the project. Students create designed solutions based on these needs, generating annotated rendered options.
