OverviewLearning languages broadens students’ horizons about the personal, social, cultural and employment opportunities that are available in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world. To provide students with a broad understanding of the Japanese language, this course will include studies of the language itself as well as students developing an understanding about the role of language and culture in communication and will incorporate historical, social, and cultural aspects of Japan.

Topics covered across both semesters include school, family, daily routines, sports, part-time work, and future dreams. Emphasis is also placed on consolidating the Katakana alphabet. | script and vocabulary tests |
